Another female sports television personality may have bit the bullet of her own tongue. January 23, 2008 saw Dana Jacobson go on a rant on a radio roast that involved shots at the Lord Jesus Christ himself. Jacobson, a Michigan alum, apparently made the inappropriate remarks towards a colleague, who is a Notre Dame alum, on ESPN’s Mike and Mike In The Morning. The quotes included shots at Touchdown Jesus and the Catholic religion. I think we should take a poll on who will be fired first, Jacobson or the lynch master Kelly Tilghman. I’m taking Dana Jacobson but Tilghman is a close second.
Richard Branson is making news again with the release of his model for Spaceship Two. Branson’s current space plane, Virgin Galactic (Spaceplane One) charges $200,000 for a short trip into space. Burt Rhuton designed Spaceship Two and its launching aircraft WhiteKnight Two and thinks the first flight will be had in late 2009. Get your reservations early as 1,000 are already on the list and the price tag is expected to be at least double the current fee. For that price, I can deal with the view from down here.
In sports, well-known caddy Steve Blantis and former Super Bowl starting quarterback David Woodley passed away today. Blantis was hit by a taxi cab in San Diego while preparing in town for this weekends Buick Invitational. Steve had helped the likes of Jim Furyk and Tommy Armour, Jr. to multiple tour victories and was extremely popular among players and caddies alike. David Woodley was the starter for the Miami Dolphins in Super Bowl XVI.
And for some odd reason Mars was a popular topic today, searches included “man on mars”, “mars photo”, “mars picture”, “face on mars”, and “mars humanoid”. Although I’m not sure what sparked the interest today…Here is the photograph of the apparent man-face-humanoid on Mars.
