It’s the day before the New Hampshire caucuses and guess what people are searching for? The Hillary Clinton crying video, Hillary tears, and Hillary cries photos. People are just plain mean, aren’t they?
Worse yet, now that Britney Spears is out of the hospital, she’s greeted with searches like “when is britney going to die?” and “britney death watch”. I sure hope Dr. Phil or someone can help her…or maybe even Doctor Oz.
And, while search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and MSN do a very good job of screening all the pornographic searches that happen each day, it’s still obvious that scandals and sex sell online. For example, people searching for Gary Zerola are getting the dirt on his recent rape trial. Those queries for “Beth Ann Chester” might as well be for “teacher who sent nude photos” and “teacher charged with sexual abuse of children” and “teacher sends sex-related text messages”. Also rounding out the top 10 searches on Google right now…Carmen Kontur-Gronquist. Ever heard of her? Me either…but she’s the mayor of small town Arlington, Oregon and there are some photos of her in lingerie on her personal MySpace.com site.
The Oprah effect is also alive and well again today, but for those who don’t watch…the searches might seem a bit unusual. Nose bidet, netty pot, nose beday, notah begay, neti pot, and neddy pot. Any ideas? I won’t spoil it for you, but this site will. Millions of searches for the final BCS game taking place tonight between OSU and LSU, as well as the Consumer Electronics Show that just started in wonderful Las Vegas…including a keynote by Bill ”Willy” Gates himself. Good Day!
